First, a disclaimer: my blogging habits have been primarily focused on photography work. However, that is about to change! There is so much more to my life and I would love to bring you along on the adventure. =) And what better way to start off this new blogging season than to invite you into my home?
Allow me to introduce my current haven, The Lodge.
There is not much I love quite as much as homemaking. My life has consisted of several moves, from across the street to across the world. I’ve discovered that wherever I go, there is always the potential to create a truly beautiful home. This idea was instilled in me at a young age by my own mother, who always knew how to create a cozy atmosphere! Whether it was lighting a candle, playing some music in the background, or keeping things clean and tidy, she always seemed to know exactly what would make you feel the most comfortable. So when I moved from my childhood home, I knew I wanted to carry those traditions with me.
I, along with two beautiful friends, were in need of a home. We had each been handed a set of circumstances which made moving a top priority, if not absolutely necessary. By the ever-humbling orchestration of God, a house was provided before we barely had time to pray about it! Of course, it helped that we were good friends with the landlord. 😉 We christened the house The Lodge in honor of the beautiful, white brick fireplace in the front living room, an uncommon luxury here in Florida! As a girl used to Siberian winters, I sure do miss my cozy fires.
That was a few months ago, and we have since moved in and made the place our own. The Lodge is now group-gathering central, with game nights, s’more feasts, and prayer groups as the norm. I couldn’t be more thankful for the home that God has provided! Included the awesome girls I get to share it with. ❤️
And now, the tour!
Meet, Jean-Luc. He is undisputedly the king of The Lodge!
In case you can’t tell, we REALLY love our books!
We also love comfy pillows and blankets. 🙂
This is the Paddington Station clock! Since it hangs in a doorway, we will have occasional casualties, in which case we declare that they have been “clocked”.
This blanket was made by my roommate, Sophie’s sister! These are the personal touches that we just adore.
And now, a QUICK glimpse into my room! My haven within a haven.
I hope you’ve enjoyed this peek into my home life! Until next time my friends. ☺️
