The Hilltop: Our First Home

I’M BACK!!!!

Hi there good lookin’! 🙂 Can you tell I’m flying high? A few days ago I rolled back into town with my brand new HUSBAND!!! We got married in Boston on October 5th, during the most beautiful time of year. I am unashamedly floating on cloud nine! I can’t WAIT to share all of the pictures and stories with you. One thing I can tell you NOW is that the Lord loved and provided for us every step of the way. Don’t you worry! An official wedding blog is just around the corner! When that time comes, I will share all of our adventures, from losing our wedding photographer last minute to falling down a waterfall on the first day of our honeymoon. Yes. It happened.

In the mean time, I have something JUST as fun to hold you over! Or at least, something pretty cute and semi-interesting. 😉 Now that we are officially married, Matt and I have been able to finish the moving process into our brand new apartment! This is our first home together, and we have LOVED compiling every detail. We adoringly dubbed our apartment the Hilltop since it is on the third floor of a building and we are already feeling the burn. 😂 ¬†Today I’ve decided to invite you in for a visit! I stayed in the main room with my camera for the sake of maintaining some mystery. 😉 Which means you’ll just have to come visit to see the rest!

Here are a few fun facts as you view the pictures:

  1. We got our dining table at Ikea, and then got 6 different chairs from places around Lakeland! It saved us a BUNCH of money and gave the main room some unique character.
  2. We are HUGE book fans. In fact, we had to bring back another suitcase from Boston JUST to fit all the books we had purchased during our time there! (I think the final count was 20 something? #yikes)
  3. One of my favorite parts of the Hilltop is our cute little beverage bar! We’ve got all kinds of hot drinks ready to go along with your mug of choice. ☕️
  4. In order to create storage in the kitchen, we hung up a rustic coat rack from hobby lobby from which our pans now dangle! It is a super fun and “vintage” way of saving space.
  5. We are BIG into plants, and each one has a special name in our home! The ones by the kitchen are named Calvin and Hobbes, and the ones by the window are Oxford and Ingrid. The little cactus had a name once… but since then we have lost it. His new name is now officially the Little Lost Boy. 🙃
  6. Another one of our space obsessions are pillows! Cozy is a MUST.
  7. Other things we have a lot of: boardgames, candles, blankets, aprons, maps, and lamps. I can’t STAND overhead lighting, so we have a TON of ambient setup at the Hilltop!
  8. Another item of interest that isn’t pictured here, are our wine rack towel holders in each bathroom! Thank you Pinterest, thank you.

Welcome to my home, friends. 😊 It’s a tiny place with a ton of heart and a lot of cozy.
