Priscilla and Jordan’s Lakeland Wedding!

First Meetings

I first met Priscilla when she floated into Hillcrest Coffee like a ray of sunshine! Her sweetness and bright smile made me fall in love with her IMMEDIATELY. She was just beginning the wedding planning process, and she had chosen me to be her photographer! What an HONOR. As time went by, Matt (my husband) and I had an unexpected encounter with Priscilla and Jordan at a local ice cream store (which is the best place to meet anyone, as we all know). We ended up sharing ice cream and walking around town together like long-time friends! My suspicions were confirmed: they were seriously the sweetest couple EVER! Not long after that, we made another surprise discovery. I was also going to be her future sister-in-law’s wedding photographer and neither of us had made the connection! We had a good laugh at that coincidence and then decided that it was total destiny that we had found each other. As the months went by, I got to know Priscilla and Jordan better, took some fun, Circle B engagement pictures for the love birds, and then prepped the nitty-gritty details for long-awaited day. The holidays came and went, the new year arrived, and then it was time to get MARRIED!!!

1/4/19

We started the festivities at the Terrace Hotel in downtown Lakeland. I cannot get OVER how much I love this building! With all of its history and golden glow, the Terrace was the perfect place for the bridal party to get ready. The guys were down the road at Cob & Pen, an equally AWESOME location with all kinds of incredible details! (I mean, just wait until you see the pictures my second shooter, Casie Marie got!) Priscilla and her girls were lounging in floral robes, finishing up the last touches of makeup, and getting ready to don their gorgeous, blush, bridesmaid dresses (and of course one breath-taking white gown). The mood was peaceful and lovely as the light streamed into the suite. Priscilla was dressed, beautified to perfection, and ready to go! We arrived at the Sorosis Building a few minutes later, where the beautiful ceremony and reception details were already all in place. Priscilla’s Dad arrived, and when he got to see and hold his daughter for the first time in her dress, I almost lost it! Then Jordan pulled in. Our lovely Maid of Honor blindfolded him and took him to his bride, where they stood back to back and enjoyed each other’s presence for a few precious moments. Then guests started to walk up and it was time for the ceremony to begin!

Wed at Last!

The breeze was cool and the light was perfect as family and friends walked down the aisle. Jordan couldn’t contain himself any longer as Priscilla stepped through the iron gate on the arm of her father. She was beaming from ear to ear as tears streamed down Jordan’s face! Her father hugged her tight, gave her away, and then it was time to say those vows. Jordan and Priscilla promised to love each other faithfully, exchanged rings, performed a sweet cross building ceremony, and then sealed their vows with a dramatic kiss! The wind was blowing as a storm in the distance came nearer, which meant Priscilla’s veil came flying off as they got to the end of the aisle! Jordan grabbed it just in time though, and proceeded to try and wear it himself! (Oh Jordan 😂) Then I got to wisk away the newly-weds for some romantic portraits. They could not stop smiling! And neither could I. 😁

Party Time

The rain hit just in time, because we were all inside and ready to party! The bridal party was introduced and then Jordan and Priscilla shared their first dance. Dinner (a delicious one at that!) was served, delightful toasts were made, and then Priscilla danced with her grandfather. Then the dance floor opened and the party got started! Everyone had a great time as the night slipped by, and after cutting the cake and tossing the bouquet and garter, it was time for the new husband and wife to be sent off. Guests lined up as the couple waved and laughed their way through the sparkling light, ending the evening with one last dip and kiss. What a wedding! 😍 Congratulations you two! On a personal note, I am so thankful for couples like Jordan and Priscilla. Their love for each other, their families, and the Lord is SO apparent throughout the wedding day! There couldn’t be a better way to celebrate the start of a new life together.

Giving Thanks

Like always, a stunning event like this doesn’t appear out of thin air! A TON of work went into making it perfect, and apart from the hard work of the Bride and her family, the vendors are definitely the heroes of the day! At the top of the list are Kellie Atkinson and Shawna Carpenter of 2 Sisters Events & Design. Shawna worked her floral magic, and Kellie was the most incredible coordinator! (You guys are the best!) A Cherished Bride worked their beauty MAGIC, and Stationery Loft provided the lovely and thoughtful wedding invitations. The ceremony was officiated by Steve Newland and took place at the fantastic Sorosis Building on Lake Morton. The evening was catered by Terrie Lobb (YUM!) and Chris Grainger of Graingertainment kept us dancing into the night! The cake was designed by Publix, and Southside Tuckers provided the excellent bar service. Seriously, this list of Lakeland vendors makes me GIDDY! You all are incredible!

Last but not least, HUGE shout out to my photography team! Casie Marie, you are an awesome second shooter, and Katie Anderson, what would I do without you girl?!

And now, please enjoy the images from Jordan and Priscilla’s wedding day!!!
